The Koala story -chapter 1


Koalas in NSW are in big trouble. Their populations are in free-fall. One of the largest populations that lived in the Pilliga forest has almost disappeared because of shocking heatwaves that saw koalas falling out of the trees, unable to cope.

Before white fellas arrived, Koalas were common. They were sitting ducks, and were shot for their furs, which were baled and exported. Millions of koala skins were exported, millions more koalas were just shot...
